Senior Reset "

A film challenge for Seniors

This film challenge is an opportunity for students in their senior year to share with the Lynbrook community and future Vikings some lesson or lessons they learned through their time enrolled as a student at Lynbrook. If you had an opportunity to press the “reset” button of your high school, what would you do differently? Your creation of a short film on this main theme could be selected to be shown to parents and future classes of Lynbrook as a guiding word of wisdom to a new generation of students. Your perspective as a senior is very valuable and could prove to be influential to those that come after you as students at Lynbrook.

As this is a film competition, there are prizes for the winners.

The first place prize will be $500.

Two second prizes of $400

4 Runners up will receive $300

Basic Requirements:

  •   Video with the length no shorter than 3:30 and no longer than 5:00

  •   The theme of the video should be “Senior Reset” which focuses on looking back at your experiences and

sharing what you have learned. The hope is you can provide a valuable insight to those that will follow

in your path on the road to completion of the high school experience.

  •   The film must be shot and produced primarily by the submitting student. However, inclusion of other

students, staff, community members, and families of Vikings may and can be utilized.

  •   The content of the film must be original to this film challenge and not previously used in any other

contest, used as a completed assignment, or entered into any student or professional film competitions.

  •   The film needs to address the central question listed in the synopsis, but the format of the film can be in

any format that you would like. The film can be shot as a fictional story, a non-fiction mini- documentary, an animation short, a series of stills, stop-motion, silent film, or any other creative way you can concoct. Simply put, in your own words and visions, how can you share with others the idea of revisiting your experiences and decisions?

 All completed films need to be completed and submitted by April, 7th 2017.

Completed short films may be submitted to Mr. Bale in room 503.

  •   Submitted films may be submitted in digital format on a USB flash drive (preferred), on a DVD, or digitally transferred to Mr. Bale with advanced notice.

  •   All approved films will be screened by a panel of judges to decide the results of the competition.

  •   It should be noted that completed films can and may be utilized by Lynbrook High School for

educational purposes to inform students about the high school experience. Questions?

 Any questions can be directed to Mr. Bale in person (room 503) or via email – Jeffrey_bale@fuhsd.org Questions can be regarding content, structure or submission process.

We encourage all qualifying*  graduating seniors to apply.
