Board votes unanimously in favor of a “supplemental school assignment plan"

The FUHSD Board approved the recommendations of the Citizens Advisory Committee to help temporarily address declining enrollment at Lynbrook. The approved plan includes the following:

  • All 8th Graders attending Miller Middle School and McAuliffe School who reside in the FUHSD attendance area, but not within the Lynbrook attendance area, have the option to choose to attend Lynbrook for high school.
  • All 8th Graders who reside in the Hyde Middle School attendance area, as that attendance area is defined as of November 1, 2016, have the option to apply to attend Lynbrook for high school. If there are more Hyde Middle School applicants than available slots at Lynbrook, a lottery system will be used to determine which Hyde Middle School students will be accepted at Lynbrook.

Detailed information will be sent by mail soon. This notice will be updated as more information becomes available.

Girls Soccer Playing at Avaya Stadium

Our own Girl's Soccer team is off to a great start in the 2016-17 season and will take on the East Bay powerhouse, San Ramon Valley in the inaugural Earthquakes High School Soccer Series.

Kickoff is at 1:50pm on Saturday, December 17th at Avaya Stadium.  The event is free and parking is free, too.

The San Jose Earthquakes will host their first annual Earthquakes High School Soccer Series, presented by Valley Health Plan, starting Monday, Dec. 5 and extending through Saturday, Dec. 17 at Avaya Stadium. Men’s and women’s teams from 15 local high schools in the Bay Area will compete in the 11-game series on the field that serves as the home of the San Jose Earthquakes.

High schools participating include Cal High, Carlmont, College Park, Cristo Rey, De La Salle, Del Mar, Evergreen Valley, Heritage, Leigh, Los Gatos, Lynbrook, Monte Vista, Oak Grove, Overfelt, San Ramon Valley, St. Francis CCC and St. Ignatius. The schools will compete in fully produced games that will include a national anthem performance, school logos on the video boards, ball kids and starting XI team photos.

The event and parking is free for fans.

Wrestling Season Begins!

Last weekend Senior Tyler Hunter-Washer, shown here executing a spectacular body slam, won the 170lb. title at the 50th Peninsula Invitational at Half Moon Bay High School.  What a great way to start the wrestling season. Congratulations, Tyler!

Cross Country State Meet

On Saturday, November 26th, Lynbrook Cross Country competed in the State Championships in Fresno.  Congratulations to Maryam Jawid, Angela Liu, Kevin Chacko, and Coach White for a hugely successful day.
