2018 ARTNOW EXHIBITION

ArtNow is an annual juried Santa Clara County High School art exhibition and educational program, presented by New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU). The ArtNow Exhibition and supporting programs offer opportunities for high school student artists, from Palo Alto to Gilroy, more than 1400 students submitted works of arts in 8 categories and only 87 were chosen for display.

 

Three students from Lynbrook had their work selected for display; Maya Sabatino- Mixed Media, Joshua Paaske- Sculpture, and Caroline Ho- Video. Joshua took 1st place in sculpture and Maya won the the Best in Show award which is given to the best work of art across all 8 categories.  

2018 SCVMA Math Field Day Results


 

Lynbrook math students earned 1st place overall at the SCVMA (Santa Clara Valley Math Association) Math Field Day at West Valley College on Saturday March 24th. The Lynbrook team competed against students from 11 of the best high schools of Santa Clara County. 

Here are the individual results from the competition:

Algebra 1: Roshini Arulraj (5th place), Shrinidhi Balachandra (8th place), Aditi Chockalingam (9th place)

Geometry: Olivia Tomm (10th place), Alvin Cheng (13th place)

Algebra 2: Joonha Hwang (2nd place), Joshua Fong (4th place), Adarsh Kamath (6th place)

Precalculus: Tiger Che (4th place), Aayushi Agrawal (7th place), Yiu Shing Li (15th place)

Calculus: Jonathan Huang (1st place), David Hu (2nd place), Jeremy Chiu (3rd place)

Statistics: Davin Tjong (1st place), Melissa Wei (3rd place), Matthew Tran (9th place)

High School Leap Frog: Austin Lei and William Hu (1st place)

Discovery Quest: Andrew Lin (1st place)

2018 Bay Area Japanese Speech Contest


 

Congratulations to three of our Lynbrook Japanese Language students who participated in the 2018 Bay Area Japanese Speech Contest at San Jose City College on Saturday, March 24th. Emily Wan took 2nd place for Advanced Placement  and Seo Hyun Park took 1st place for Level 2. Madha Gelli participated in Level 3 and did well. Thank you to our wonderful Japanese teachers who worked to prepare our students and supported our students efforts during the event.
